Ukraine has developed an interceptor drone to counter Russian Shahed and Gerbera attack drones. This was reported to Militarnyi by the developers.

In response to Russia’s systematic attacks using attack drones, Ukraine has introduced new means of air interception. These are specialized unmanned aerial vehicles designed to engage enemy targets in the air.

Ukrainian engineers have developed a new solution that can operate effectively at night and at high speed. Its key advantage is the ability to quickly detect and physically destroy an airborne threat before it approaches infrastructure or populated areas.

The development was implemented as part of the consistent adaptation of the defense forces to new challenges. The system takes into account the peculiarities of Shahed-136 tactics, which increases the likelihood of intercepting them in difficult conditions, including at night.

The developers are working on the implementation of the final homing system, which will fully automate the system and reduce the need for personnel. The implementation of such solutions is another step in strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies. At the same time, it is a signal to the enemy that Ukraine is not only defending itself, but is also technologically ahead of it in certain components of modern combat.
