TEKEVER Gets $35M European Maritime Safety Agency Maritime Surveillance Contract
- TEKEVER has signed with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) a new €30 million (USD 35M) framework contract for a two year period with possible extensions up to 4 years.
TEKEVER will provide two complete systems, each comprising two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS), to support simultaneous, multi-region deployments across European waters.
At the core of this service is TEKEVER’s AR5, a medium-altitude, long-endurance fixed wing UAS, designed for complex maritime scenarios. Capable of flying beyond line of sight, the AR5 platform offers up to 12 hours of endurance in the configuration delivered to EMSA, the AR5 platform supports a modular payload architecture with available options such as electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) cameras, maritime radar, AIS receivers, high capacity SATCOM and EPIRB antennas. A newly available second gimbal allows for automatic detection, enhancing AI-driven capabilities.
The AR5 has been deployed in missions across Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and the Baltic States since 2017. Its capabilities regularly support EMSA and national authorities in detecting, assessing and responding to a wide range of wide-area maritime surveillance missions, including maritime domain situational awareness, fisheries control, law enforcement, sea rescue with a life-raft release solution and environmental protection.
Nadia Maaref, Managing Director of TEKEVER France, said:
“With this contract, EMSA is once again placing its trust in TEKEVER’s proven technology. Our systems continue to support maritime surveillance, allowing authorities to improve situational awareness and deliver real-time intelligence where it matters most.”
