Mercury Enhances Expertise in Digital RF and IT with KOR Electronics Acquisition

Mercury Computer Systems Inc. is boosting it's expertise in digital RF and information technology with the acquisition of KOR Electronics in Cypress, California, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Paragon Dynamics Inc. in Aurora, Colorado.

Mercury, which specializes in high-end embedded computing technology with an emphasis on multi-intelligence and sensor-fusion systems, completed its acquisition of KOR Paragon Dynamics on 30 December in an all-cash deal, Mercury officials say. No dollar amount of the acquisition was released.

KOR Electronics specializes in the exploitation of digital RF and information technologies with the company's analogue-to-digital & digital-to-analogue technologies. Paragon Dynamics, meanwhile, provides system design and integration; software development; and mission analysis and support.

KOR is supplying advanced digital RF jammers for U.S. Navy and Air Force electronic warfare systems under terms of a $44.4 million Navy contract awarded two years ago, and is supplying the Air Force with radio frequency target generators (RFTGs) for military radar, RF, and target generation applications. KOR purchased Paragon Dynamics in 2008 from Zanett Inc. in New York.
