MARSS Completes NiDAR C-UAS Installation on Superyacht
- MARSS has completed the successful installation and crew sign-off of its NiDAR system aboard one of the largest sailing vessels in the world. The work was finished within just six months of securing the $4 million contract for the two installations on the prestigious yacht and its support vessel.
Frederik Giepmans, Managing Director MARSS Maritime, comments:
"I am immensely proud of our team's collaborative effort in delivering this cutting-edge system in such a short timeframe. This installation, on one of the world's largest sailing yachts, not only demonstrates our technical abilities, but also reinforces our position as an industry leader in maritime security. We look forward to wrapping up the project in the coming weeks, as our full attention now turns to the supporting vessel.”
The superyacht’s crew and security team have also praised the system's effectiveness, noting during testing: "We detected more drones today than we ever did with the old system."
These deployments build upon MARSS's strong performance in 2023, which saw the delivery of NiDAR systems to five ships, including three luxury yachts, a legacy yacht upgrade, and the Combat Support Ship, Asterix, for the Royal Canadian Navy.
