Eight years on, Chula Vista operates one of the most sophisticated drone programs in American law enforcement — and, with 46 aircraft on its books, one of the largest inventories of any agency in San Diego County, according to annual reports required by state law.
The aircraft can perform maritime and land target surveillance missions during peacetime, as well as tactical reconnaissance of specific targets, while in wartime its real-time reconnaissance capabilities allow for the immediate transmission of imagery for analysis and use.
The initiative will accelerate the European defence ecosystem by combining extensive Western systemic defence expertise with battle-proven technological agility and effectiveness to foster next-generation defence frameworks.
Competitors will fly their drones in a 5-nautical-mile circuit course in a head-to-head, live performance trial. Those with the highest payload-to-weight ratios and novel designs will win $6.5 million in prizes.
The proposed sale will improve Kuwait’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing electronic and kinetic defeat capabilities against unmanned aerial systems.
