Loitering Munitions - One Way Effector (OWE)
The drones deployed for Operation Epic Fury are modeled after Iran’s Shahed drones. LUCAS is an abbreviation for low-cost unmanned combat attack system. The drones have an extensive range and are designed to operate autonomously.
Accidents
It's not clear why the laser was deployed but it's the second time in two weeks that one has been fired in the area. The military is required to formally notify the FAA anytime it takes any counter-drone action inside U.S. airspace.

Built to counter first-person view drones, kamikaze drones, and loitering munitions, SCILT integrates effector modules, onboard sensors, and fire-control logic directly into the vehicle. The effector module can fire multiple ammunition types including tungsten fragments, and armour-piercing shells.
